About Donna
Donna Swanson, LCSW, is an experienced clinician working with adults ages 18–65+. Donna graduated with her BA in Human Relations in 1993 from Rockford University and earned her MSW in 1995 from Loyola University. Her experience includes many years in police social work, juvenile and family services, mental health, victim support, hospice and home health, care management, and private practice.
Areas of clinical focus include depression, anxiety, divorce, domestic violence, relationship challenges, disabilities, adoption, adjustment to major life transitions, grief, chronic illness, and supporting individuals who have a loved one with a personality disorder. Donna believes everyone deserves to be treated with respect and begins where each client is in their journey.
Growth is not rushed here, and change happens when you are ready. A cocoon reflects where we have been – the experiences, patterns, and struggles that once protected us but no longer serve us. From this comes the butterfly, emerging with grace and moving forward with freedom at your own pace.
In her personal time, Donna enjoys spending time with family, reading, fishing, and being creative.
